Fashion trends change quickly.

What is considered fashionable today may be forgotten tomorrow. Something that starts as a trend can eventually become normalized, and people may begin wearing it simply because everyone else is wearing it.

This is where Christians need discernment.

The fact that something is popular does not automatically make it appropriate.

The fact that celebrities wear it does not mean we should wear it.

The fact that social media influencers promote it does not mean it agrees with our values.

And the fact that “everybody is doing it” is not necessarily a good reason for us to follow.

Romans 12:2 encourages believers not to simply conform to the pattern of the world, but to allow their minds to be transformed.

This principle can also influence the way we approach fashion.

Before following a trend, ask:

“Does this trend agree with the values I want my life to represent?”
