1 Timothy 2:9 says women should adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety.
1 Peter 3:3-4 reminds us that true beauty is not the outward adorning of clothes and gold, but the hidden man of the heart, a meek and quiet spirit.
Dressing is never just about fashion. It reveals the condition of the heart. A heart that fears God will not deliberately expose the body or stir lust. A heart that seeks attention will always push the boundaries.
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Therefore, we must glorify God in how we present them. Tight, transparent, revealing, or confusing clothing does not reflect the holiness of the God we claim to serve.
God also maintains the distinction between male and female in appearance (Deuteronomy 22:5). In a generation that is erasing that distinction, the church must not follow the world.
Child of God, your dressing is a silent sermon. It either points people to Jesus or becomes a stumbling block.
Ask yourself before you wear anything:
“Would I be comfortable if Jesus appeared right now?”
Let us dress as those who are preparing to meet the King.
