Dear sisters in Christ,

Is wearing pantyhose part of godly dressing? Absolutely yes,  when done with the right heart.

Pantyhose are not about chasing worldly sexiness or trends. They are about feminine modesty, polish, and loving care. They complete a modest outfit, smooth the appearance, show respect for the occasion (and for your husband), and reflect the dignity of a woman who carries herself as a daughter of the King. Many Christian ladies who are committed to godly dressing have found that a simple pair of neutral or sheer pantyhose with a modest dress or skirt adds that extra touch of elegance without compromising biblical standards of modesty.

It’s not about “dressing up” only when the weather is perfect. It’s about the sentiment behind it, the willingness to make an effort to honor God and bless your husband with a well-presented appearance. As wives, we are called to be helpers who adorn ourselves “in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation” (1 Timothy 2:9). Small choices like this can be acts of love and submission that strengthen marriage.

I remember seasons when pulling out pantyhose felt like “pulling teeth.” Excuses would come, “I’m not wearing that,” “It’s not pantyhose weather,” or “I’m not dressing up.” But when a husband is providing and leading, these small expressions of care say, “I value you. I’m willing to go the extra mile.” It’s not about perfection, it’s about the heart.

Christian ladies who believe in godly dressing are not only allowed to wear pantyhose,  they are free to use them as a tool for modesty and beauty that glorifies God.

Let your outer appearance reflect the inner beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:3-4).
